Halfway
through our journey down under. I can’t
believe how fast the 6 months has gone but at the same time I can’t believe how
much we have been able to see, do and experience in such a short time and we
have so many adventures already booked for the 2nd half to look
forward too. Turning our life upside
down has pushed me to live life to its fullest (which I thought I was already
doing but I feel like I am doing it more now).
The important things in your life truly become your top priorities.
Some things I’ve learnt:
The kids REALLY
don’t need all of the toys and stuff they had back home
I don’t
need the toys I had back home
School
uniforms don’t limit individuality they force kids to have individual hearts
and minds
You can
remain close to your best friends and family from a distance
I can run
(but running is still evil)
Some things that I believed that are even more
true now:
We need
experiences, not things
When you
want to do what you have to do you will love your life wherever you might be
Your kids
are your kids not you 30 years ago
Things are
better when seen through the innocence and honesty of a child’s eye
When you
put yourself first you can give your whole self to those around you.
Being more
of a true stay at home day I have had time to look back (through the eyes of
Facebook memories) and have realized how fast life really goes by. When did I become 35 (well almost anyway) I
know Maëlle is 6 now but was she really born 6 years ago? Have I really not been in front of a
classroom for 5 YEARS? I have so many amazing memories and
experiences that I remember as though they were yesterday but happened 2, 3, 5,
10, 15, 20+ years ago. Life goes by so
fast! You can always make more money but you can never get back the time you’ve
lost so I’m making the most of it.
Thanks for
following along the journey that is our life.
Wow! Inspirational! So happy to be able to share a bit of this adventure,
